Story
Iβm (slightly unbelievably) running the 2026 London Marathon πββοΈπ¬π§, my first ever marathon and absolutely terrified.
After somehow managing a sub-two-hour half marathon at the Royal Parks Half, Iβve decided to take things one small step further (26.2 miles π). What better way to do it than by running for a brilliant cause: The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation.
Iβm proud to be supporting The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation, a brilliant community charity based in Northamptonshire, that is of course my hometown.
What started during the early days of the pandemic as an emergency response to help people facing hardship has grown into a vital organisation supporting thousands of individuals and families across the county.
Their impact is:
π 100,000+ people supported with food and essential supplies through their Food Hub since 2020
π« 90+ schools supported with food parcels, breakfast boxes and practical help for children
π€ Community clubs and outreach programmes helping tackle loneliness and social isolation
π‘ Practical support for families in crisis, helping people regain stability and dignity
π 140+ volunteers working tirelessly to support those who need it most
At a time when so many people are struggling, organisations like this make a real difference and not just by providing essentials, but by building connection, support and community.
This marathon will test me physically and mentally in ways Iβve never experienced before (for real), but knowing Iβm doing it to help this incredible community first foundation makes it all worth it.
Any support, donations or encouragement (for that matter) would mean the world to me and will (hopefully!) get me over that finish line
Thank you β€οΈππ₯π«ΆπββοΈ
