Story
Hello friends, colleagues and acquaintances out there!
In January of 2025, I was diagnosed with a carcinoid tumour in my left distal bronchus. Thankfully, it was successfully removed via surgery in April of that year, and I’m now almost completely back to normal.
I was incredibly lucky to receive the intense, warm support of my partner, family and friends during that challenging time.
Following on from it, it’s important to me to convert the ordeal into something positive, and so I’ve decided to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer, so those in similar situations – especially those with less of a support network – are able to receive the assistance they need.
I know people often run half-marathons in these sorts of situations, but since I’m rubbish at those, I thought I’d do something I’m a bit better at instead. So I’ll be doing a quiz-marathon!
On Sunday 29 March, I’ll be answering all sorts of questions for 10 hours straight (12–10pm). I’m planning to livestream the whole thing to YouTube as well, so if you’d like to tune in and watch me get grilled, you’re very welcome to: https://www.youtube.com/@QuizAgainstCancer
My goal is to raise £500, and any donation — big or small — would mean a great deal. If donating isn’t possible, sharing the fundraiser with others would also be hugely appreciated.
Thanks so much for your attention 😊
More about Young Lives vs Cancer:
When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.
At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you.
