A unique aquathlon-style fundraising and fitness challenge across Edinburgh’s five stunning Victorian swimming pools this Easter Monday, 6th April 2026 and support Edinburgh Leisure’s Active Communities programmes.
Story
Five years ago I swam five kilometres in my local pool to raise money for charity. The cunning and mischievous folk at Edinburgh Leisure have come up with a NEW CHALLENGE which they knew I wouldn’t be able to resist. I’m going to SWIM ONE KILOMETRE IN EACH OF FIVE DIFFERENT POOLS. And just to make sure that you get value for money I’m going to WALK THE SIXTEEN KILOMETRES between each of the pools - ALL ON THE SAME DAY!
The 2026 Victorian Pool Crawl will see up to 75 people walking 16 kilometres and swimming 1km in each of all five of Edinburgh Leisure’s Victorian pools in a single day to raise over as much money as they can for the Active Communities programme.
The challenge begins at Dalry Swim Centre and winds its way through the city, finishing in style on the promenade at Portobello Swim Centre. It will raise vital funds to support people of all ages in Edinburgh who face barriers to leading healthy, active, lives.
Please give as much as you can……..I promise I won’t spend a penny of it on Krispy Kreme donuts to keep me going through the day. Honest.
