Fred Whitton Ride for Motor Neurone Disease Association

GRUFC takes on Fred Whitton · 17 August 2024
The club has close ties with the Cleveland MNDA branch and regularly holds collections and fundraising activities with proceeds going towards fighting this horrible disease.
During the off-season several of the players have been training towards competing in their own version of the Fred Whitton Challenge - see link for description - https://fredwhittonchallenge.co.uk/
The riders, who much prefer 30 miles and couple of social beers, are: Lewis Robson, Tom Pajak, Rory Cosgrove, Jack Robinson and Jannie Jacobs.
The support crew are: Gareth Lodge and Simon Taggart (riding 85 miles).
The event is to take place on 17th August and in short is 112 miles with over 12,000 ft of climbing over Honister, Hardknott and Wrynose to name but a few. We estimate it will be at least 10 hours in the saddle.
The challenge was not originally set with raising money for charity in mind however we would be grateful for any donation and would like to thank in advance all those who donate, share or like this.
