Freeva's fundraiser for FreeVA

Freeva Charity is raising money for FreeVA

Walking the Camino Ingles 120k · 1 June 2026

Freeva provide specialist services for victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence, for women, men and young people. Plus outreach, in court services and counselling. We also provide programmes for adult perpetrators who want to change and young people who use abuse against loved ones.

Story

Tony Goldby turns 80 this year, Andy Goldby is 54, and together this father and daughter double act have decided the sensible thing to do would be to walk 120km of the Camino Inglés in just 6 days to raise money for Freeva.

Starting on the 1st, they’ll be battling sore feet, questionable knees, exhaustion, blisters and probably each other, all in support of a cause that matters deeply to them.

Freeva supports people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, providing life changing support, advice and safety to thousands of people every year.

Tony may be 80, but apparently that wasn’t enough excitement for him. Andy thought joining him sounded like a brilliant idea too. Between them, they’ve got determination, stubbornness and a very real possibility of getting lost because someone’s too busy laughing at the other one.

As you can see from the photo, Andy already got her hat on backwards, so confidence is high.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Freeva continue supporting people who need someone to listen, someone to believe them, and somewhere to turn.

Please support these two wonderfully bonkers humans as they take on this challenge, one painful step at a time.
