Story
I'm running 3 Marathons in 1 year to raise money for Single Homeless Project (Manchester 2025, Berlin 2025 and London 2026)! I worked for SHP for a few years and know first hand the amazing work that they do to support people facing homelessness in London. Many of the fantastic, dedicated and truly inspirational colleagues I had are continuing that work, making such a difference for people at a critical point in their lives.
Every 7.5 minutes one Londoner is forced into homelessness.
SHP are there for people. Whether to prevent their eviction, help them off the street, get them into treatment, support them with their mental health, or to help them find a job and a flat so that they can take the final steps to living on their own...they're there for them no matter what.
They are also the first homelessness organisation to reach DAHA (Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance) accreditation, meaning they are doing the best job at supporting survivors of domestic abuse in a trauma informed way, a cause that means a lot to me! SHP is leading the way in ensuring we are supporting survivors facing homelessness and making sure women are never invisible in systems that are meant to support them.
They make a difference to 12,000 Londoners every year, worth it for the blisters.
