Story
I will be running the Ultra Trail Snowdonia Eryri 25k to raise money for a new charity close to my heart: Izzy's Impact: Melanoma Awareness and Prevention.
Izzy’s Impact has been set up in honour of my beautiful friend Izzy, who tragically passed away two and a half years ago from Melanoma Skin Cancer.
Izzy’s Impact is dedicated to raising awareness about Melanoma, promoting prevention through education, and encouraging early detection. The team hopes to make a lasting difference, and build a community centred around knowledge and action, to help others.
The run will take place on the 17th May, 2026, starting in Llanberis, leading up to the summit of Snowdonia, and back down again, before tackling another smaller climb at Bron-y-Fedw, then returning to the finish line at Llanberis.
The course features a total elevation gain of 1,400 metres over 25 kilometres. I have never attempted anything like this before; just six months ago, I couldn’t even run a 5k! However, training is well underway, and any race day tips you may have are welcome!
Every donation—no matter how small—will make an impact and will be incredibly appreciated by myself, everyone involved in the charity, and those who knew and loved Izzy!
100% of the funds raised will go directly to Izzy's Impact: Melanoma Awareness and Prevention.
