Story
In April 2026 I’ll be running the London Marathon in memory of Liv Williams and in support of Epilepsy Action, a charity that means a great deal to me personally and emotionally.
As someone living with epilepsy myself, I know how unpredictable and isolating it can be. That’s why I’m proud to be raising money for Epilepsy Action, a charity that provides vital support and raises awareness about conditions like SUDEP.
Liv sadly passed away from SUDEP, Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy, on the 28th of July 2024. SUDEP is when a person with epilepsy dies suddenly without any clear cause. It is not widely known or talked about, but its impact is truly devastating.
I met Liv in primary school, and even though we went to different high schools, whenever we saw eachother she always had the same big energy and spark. Her family describe her as caring, adventurous, thoughtful, and full of life. She had a natural ability to make people feel included and always brought joy into every room. She has made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions, yet many people know very little about it. It’s often seen as an inconvenience or something triggered by flashing lights, rather than the unpredictable and potentially fatal condition it can be.
The marathon takes place on the 26th of April 2026, just one day before what would have been Liv’s 21st birthday. That timing makes this challenge feel even more meaningful. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to me and to Liv’s family.
