Story
Hi everyone,
This year, I want to raise money in memory of a dear family friend who sadly passed away far too soon, last year. Her husband has very kindly nominated Willow Wood as the charity that he and his wife would want to support through my fundraising. If you could possibly spare any donation, even if it is 50 pence, that would mean so much. I know how difficult things are financially for most people at the moment, so if you can donate, thank you…thank you from the bottom of my heart.
So, what am I doing?
My previous fundraisers have involved walking and hiking, which I really enjoy, but for this fundraiser I really wanted to challenge myself by doing something far out of my comfort zone. Most people who know me know that my nemesis is running. I can walk, swim, play netball, volleyball….but I’m not particularly good at running. So, I have chosen to compete in 12 consecutive park-runs (5k) therefore running a total of 60k. I am not expecting to get great times, but what I would like to try and do is progress a little with each run. This challenge is going to be difficult, but as this fundraiser means so much, I will give it my all!
Where and when?
I will be running the 5k course at Alexandra Park, Oldham. Please see dates and times below:

A little about Willow Wood Hospice
Willow Wood Hospice is an adult Hospice providing specialist palliative care for patients with life limiting illnesses, both cancer and non-cancer diagnosis. They provide care, free of charge, and patients, families and their carers are at the centre of everything they do.
How will your donations help?
Your donation will enable people with serious illness, coming to the end of their lives, receive love and care in beautiful surroundings at what may be challenging times and will enable them to live the lives they have left, to the full. The team at Willow Wood Hospice needs your urgent help to continue to develop high quality care for the people of Tameside and Glossop.
