Freya has been fortunate to be selected to participate in the 2027 trip to Kenya. During her time there she plans to help teach Art and Makaton to pupils aged 3-16. She will also be helping to paint murals on the school buildings.

Derby school pupils are travelling to Nakuru, Kenya in August 2027 to spend time volunteering at schools in a developing area of the country.

In partnership with Derby County Community Trust and African Adventures, we will work in partner schools who provide a free education for children from underprivileged backgrounds, and we will help support the long-term development of the schools.

Working in a range of roles from teaching, sports coaching, or building and renovation, we will undoubtedly make a difference and learn so much about the wider world during this challenging experience.
