Story
I'm joining #TeamSHC to run the London Marathon 2027 to support Jessops Wing.
I am running with two important generations in mind. My son Zac (who is now 7y/o and living life to the full) who was born at 27wks and had life saving care and treatment in Jessops Wing for 2months in 2019. Secondly, my Mum (Christina) ran over 100 marathons between 1993-2003, including 10 Comrades marathons. She moved our lives to UK in 2003, managed to do one London Marathon before starting her battle with cancer. Though she had superb treatment from Weston Park she passed away in 2009. Two people have taught me how to “run the good race marked out for us” with grit, determination and smiles.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters, Sheffield Hospitals Charity is able to support the outstanding work of staff across Sheffield Teaching Hospitals to transform the care and treatment of all those who need it, increasing life chances of babies in Jessops Wing and prolonging life with cancer care at Weston Park. SHC help Sheffield’s hospitals, community teams, mental health and specialist services to cover costs their NHS budgets can’t.
