Story

We’re running for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital — for Freddie, and for every child who needs them.

Just three weeks after coming into the world, our baby Freddie faced the toughest of starts. He became critically ill with Group B Strep, which led to a cardiac arrest and serious life threatening sepsis infection. He was rushed via the amazing NWTS ambulance team to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, where he spent a week fighting for his life.

Thanks to the phenomenal care he received — the dedication, expertise, and compassion of the PICU staff — Freddie pulled through.

So now, we're doing our bit. We’re running the Manchester Half Marathon to raise money for Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, which supports the PICU by funding lifesaving equipment, backing up families at their most vulnerable, and helping the staff go the extra mile every single day.

Freddie showed us what true strength looks like. If he can come through that — we can complete this run. No excuses. This one’s for him, and for every family that’s had to watch their child fight for their life.

Please give whatever you can. Every penny makes a difference.

Thank you 💚
