Fuel the Swim - Double the Win!

Robert Hurlak is raising money for DSS-GB
Down Syndrome Swimming Great Britain (DSS-GB) is a volunteer led charity that aims to be the leading voice for aspiring swimmers with T21 or Mosaic Down syndrome who wish to compete at national and international level, sharing good practice and practical information with families, clubs and coaches.

Story

Hi, I’m Robert , Brand Leader at AllSaints, passionate swimmer, and firm believer in the power of sport to change lives — and this year, I’m diving in deep (literally) for a cause that matters.

After rediscovering swimming a few years ago following a long break, I was reminded of how transformative it is — not just for physical fitness, but for mental clarity, resilience, and connection. Now, I’m combining that passion with purpose by fundraising for Down Syndrome Swimming GB, an incredible charity that helps athletes with Down syndrome thrive in the water.

I’ll be training for and taking part in two events:

1) Nottingham Outlaw Sprint Triathlon – 17th of May 2025

(Swim 750M, Bike 20Km, Run 5Km)

https://www.outlawtriathlon.com/nottingham-half/sprint/

2)Rutland 8KM Endurance Open Water Swim - 3rd of August 2025

These events are not just personal milestones, but a platform to support inclusion in sport and help more people discover the joy and freedom that sport and swimming in particular brings.

How you can follow and support me:

You’re welcome to support me not just by donating, but also by cheering me on throughout training and the events themselves. I’ll be sharing my Garmin watch training sessions publicly so you can track my progress and maybe even get inspired to join in!

What DSS-GB does:

Down Syndrome Swimming GB is the leading voice for aspiring swimmers with Down syndrome. They:

Identify and support swimmers to reach elite performance standards

Share guidance with families, clubs and coaches

Organise the British Down Syndrome Swimming Championships

Build pathways from local pools to international podiums — and, most importantly, nurture a lifelong love of swimming

And here’s the twist — your donation goes twice as far!

Thanks to the AllSaints Community Project, my employer will match every pound raised and transfer it directly to the charity. That means your £10 becomes £20. Simple math, massive impact.

So — if you’ve ever felt the joy of a cold swim, the calm after a long session, or just want to back a cause that makes real waves — please donate, share, and support. Help me make this splash count.

Because no one gets left on the poolside.
