Today, women in Ecuador face great challenges on their path to economic independence. The different situations that have been occurring in the country have had a negative impact on the social and economic sphere, leaving many women without employment opportunities. As a consequence, this has increased their economic dependence, forcing them in some cases to receive support from their partners or family members. The wage gap remains significant, limiting the possibilities of economic autonomy and hindering their access to better living conditions.

Despite the challenges, Ecuadorian women have shown extraordinary strength and resilience in the realm of entrepreneurship. Driven by the desire to forge their own path and generate income, many lead micro and small businesses in sectors such as retail and artisanal production. Although they face barriers to accessing financing and support networks essential to growing their projects, they do not stop. This reality highlights the importance of promoting initiatives that provide them with the necessary tools, because with access to adequate training and resources, women not only survive, but thrive, breaking barriers and reaching new horizons.

The Nikols Foundation is raising $30,000 to provide concrete opportunities that allow women to strengthen their projects and achieve sustainable economic independence. These funds will be used to provide specialized training, essential tools and ongoing advice, so that each entrepreneur develops her skills and strengthens her business. This project is aimed at women entrepreneurs in Ecuador, who, with their courage and creativity, are the transformative force that drives change in our society.
