Fundraiser in memory of Garry Oldfield

adidas Manchester Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Springhill Hospice provides vital care & support to people with a life limiting illness & their loved ones.
From the moment Garry was aware of his diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer, Springhill Hospice made it clear that they were there and immediately helped with treatment and pain management. They would work around the clock to make sure Garry had the most comfortable experience as possible. This was comforting for not only Garry but his family for them to know he was in safe hands. During Garry’s stay at Springhill Hospice it was made clear that the nurses and staff who work and volunteer are real life hero’s and to raise money for such a lovely place and cause would be a pleasure and we’re sure Garry would say the same.
Garry Oldfield was a man known by many and he was loved and appreciated in every way. Spending his time working with local grass root football clubs and volunteering for the North Bury league as a valued member of the committee allowed for thousands of children to enjoy football.
A loving family man who was so proud of his family and was always there rain or shine. His family would also like to mention that the care that not only Garry received but his family received in the terms of support during this difficult times as greatly appreciated. Like mentioned before, Real Life Hero’s.
I Dylan Harris, Garrys eldest grandchild, am dedicating this year’s Manchester Marathon to him and the thousands we lose to Cancer every single day.
He will be missed by every single person he knew and will always be remembered for the great man he was.
May he rest in peace x
