Story

"You cannot do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late.

Our wonderful Dad passed away on the 5th of March. His life has been one of fun, laughter, generosity and kindness. We would like to channel this kindness and generosity back to HospiceCare North Northumberland, who helped and supported both him and our Mum during the last stages of his life. Their support has been invaluable and we're eager to make sure it is available to as many people as possible who may be facing difficult times.

Anything you can donate, however big or small, would be hugely appreciated.

HospiceCare is the main provider of palliative care in North Northumberland. They serve around 65,000 people living in some of the most rural parts of the country and have two Wellbeing Centres - one in Alnwick and one in Berwick.

They deliver a Hospice-at-Home service offering practical care and support to adults who are living with a terminal illness requiring palliative input. The care is delivered by a team of Registered Nurses and Hospice Support Workers, 365 days a year day or night, planned or in a crisis, with emphasis on promoting quality of life.

This year they expect their running costs to be around £1.5m and will receive a 5% contribution, the rest they have to find from donations & fundraising.
