Running the London Marathon for Children Facing Hunger
On Sunday, 26th April, I’ll be running the London Marathon, a challenge I’m really looking forward to, both physically and mentally.
I’ve chosen to run in support of the Foodbank where I volunteer locally, with one clear focus: children living with hunger.
No child should have to face poverty or go without food. Proper nutrition is vital for their development, learning, and well-being. Yet too many children in the Chichester District are dealing with the daily reality of food insecurity.
Every penny raised will go directly towards supporting families with children and funding new child-focused initiatives launching later this year, including:
🎨 Free children’s holiday art workshops (May half term, in collaboration with Chichester Art Society)
🥗 Family Matters summer groups in Midhurst (with Home-Start), creating connections, support networks, and healthy lunches
🎄 Festive Bites on a Budget, a fun Christmas cookery class and storytime for families
This marathon will be a huge personal challenge, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges these children face every day.
If you can, please show your support. Together, we can help ensure no child goes hungry.
