Fundraising for Freya

Charity Bike Ride · 22 July 2025
Freya is eight years old and always has a smile on her face. She loves nothing more than spending time with her identical twin Alice. In December 2022, Freya was diagnosed with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma. After completing 15 months of frontline treatment, end-of-treatment scans showed Freya had relapsed and since relapsed again this summer. A donation to Freya's campaign could help her access potentially life-saving treatment to get her back into remission.
The South Derbyshire Active School Partnership and Active South Derbyshire are proud to support the fundraising efforts for Freya’s treatment and ongoing care.
Freya is a vibrant and much-loved student within our school community. One of our dedicated sports coaches has the pleasure of teaching Freya and works closely with her class, building strong and meaningful relationships.
Freya’s school is also an active member of our partnership, and we are deeply moved by her courage and determination. In light of this, we are committed to standing alongside Freya and her family during this time and supporting her in every way we can.
To show our support, the team have set themselves the challenge of cycling to every school affiliated with the partnership within the district. On the day, this will mean covering a whopping 70 miles, finishing at Freya’s school — a symbolic and heartfelt end to the journey.
We will be working closely with our network of schools, staff, and local partners to raise awareness and contribute to the fundraising campaign. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in Freya’s journey.
