Story
A team of determined (and slightly nervous!) colleagues from Francis Wilks & Jones are tackling the South London Tough Mudder this year, all in aid of Wessex Heartbeat, a charity close to our hearts.
At the start of 2025, one of our much-loved team members suffered a sudden and serious cardiac arrest. Thanks to the incredible care she received and the invaluable support her family were given during such a frightening time, she is now on the road to recovery. It was her and her family’s recommendation that led us to Wessex Heartbeat, who do incredible work supporting cardiac patients and their loved ones.
Every year, Wessex Heartbeat supports over 1,000 families through the toughest times of their lives, offering free accommodation at Rotary Heartbeat House. This peaceful haven is just a three-minute walk from the Wessex Cardiac Unit in Southampton. Families can stay for as long as they need, surrounded by comfort, care and a community of others facing similar journeys.
What makes this support even more remarkable is that Wessex Heartbeat receives no government or statutory funding. They rely entirely on the generosity of donors to raise the £90,000 needed each year to keep Heartbeat House open. This year, as the house celebrates its 30th anniversary, we are proud to play a small part in helping them continue their life-changing work.
So, we are lacing up our trainers, braving the mud and pushing through the pain to raise vital funds for this fantastic cause. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Wessex Heartbeat continue to provide vital support to families in their darkest moments.
Please help us support a truly exceptional charity.
