Story
Martin's never swung a club, but he’s swinging to help those in need.
This summer we have been invited to join the CEO of Julia’s House, Martin Edwards’ 20/20 challenge to help raise £100,000 for the charity.
Fireworx, together with Golfpod, Zestec and A-One Insurance, are helping Martin Edwards take on Remedy Oak, one of England’s top 60 golf courses, all to raise £5,000 for Julia’s House Hospice, one swing at a time.
The Challenge Format
• Martin will join each team for 4 holes in a Texas Scramble format
• Each team must use one of Martin’s tee shots during their stretch
• The combined target is 160 stableford points (40 per team)
Martin’s Heroic Side Quests!
Throughout the round, Martin must also complete 6 heroic challenges, each can be sponsored at £200:
• Sink a putt longer than 10ft
• “Fairway Fairies” on Hole 3 – Play while wearing fairy wings
• “Bunker Boys” on Hole 13 – Chip out of a bunker using a kids' club
• “Golfing Pirates” on Hole 16 – Play with an eyepatch
• Hit the green on the 18th over water, off the mat of shame!
• Bonus: Hole out using the “wrong” club (sponsor’s choice?)
Martin’s Solo Moments - He’ll take on:
• Hole 13 alone, can he handle it under pressure?
• Hole 18 with the crowd watching – must complete it in under 20 shots, ending with the nerve-wracking shot over water!
Fundraising Boosters - Bonus balls!
• For every £100 Martin raises, he gets a "Bonus Ball", letting him move the ball 100 yards forward
• Businesses can sponsor holes or feats for £200
