Story
5 years ago I started volunteering with Govan Community Project, a charity that supports people seeking asylum in Glasgow to build community by offering key services that help people to successfully navigate their new world.
The charity does incredible work and the team is so passionate about what they do. Its been a real joy to have seen the charity develop over the years. From equipping people with the bare minimum they need if they are destitute and on the streets to English language classes so that they can start to navigate the new world that they find themselves in. Homework clubs for kids to gain an education, when often their parents are learning English too and advice and advocacy support.
Funding is the lifeblood of any charitable organisation and I hope to contribute a little more this year by doing the kiltwalk. I chose kiltwalk because the kilt is a symbol or national pride in Scotland and we pride ourselves in our generosity, tolerance and social conscience. Please give generously
