Story

2 years ago I lost my dad suddenly. 2025 is when he should have been celebrating turning 60 and I want to be able to mark this by giving myself one hell of a challenge.

I want to walk, run or swim 500km between the 14th February (the date he died) and the 25th July (his birthday) in aid of the North Kessock RNLI station.

Dad was part of the crew at Kessock for over 25 years and during this time it’s been a big part of my life too. I fundraised, helped out at the station doing various jobs with Dad and even trained with the crew before going to Uni. Many of the crew from over the years are like extended family to me.

I need to cover 100km a month so I’ll need to get my watch charged and find some new trails to walk and run! I also gave birth to Callan only 6 months ago so it’s going to be even more of a challenge when I haven’t been running or swimming in over a year!

Here is a bit if information about the RNLI and Kessock:

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. More than ever people need the help of the RNLI but too many people are still drowning. This needs to change and thanks to your help, it can.

Kessock lifeboat station is crewed by volunteers, who provide a 24 hour search and rescue service. We rely on the support of our local communities to power our lifesaving service. Your support will help the running of lifeboat stations like Kessock and, ultimately, help to save lives.
