Story
I'll be running the Edinburgh Marathon in May 2025 to support Tommy's and continue their vital work saving babies' lives. After raising £400 for Tommy's through running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2024, I wanted to challenge myself once again to raise money for such an important cause and run the full 26.2 miles!
Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. Half of adults in the UK have experienced baby loss or know someone who has. Tommy's want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies. Tommy's is dedicated to finding causes and treatments as well as providing trusted pregnancy and baby loss information and support.
I feel closely connected towards this cause, not only as a junior doctor wanting to specialise in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, but also as a woman wanting to empower, support and help provide opportunities for people and their babies. All women deserve access to maternal care and it's deeply saddening to know that there are women who lose not just their babies, but their own lives due to inadequate resources and poor education.
Please help me support Tommy's charity by donating today.
Thank you!
