Story
Gateway 2 Conveyancing has chosen RoadPeace as our charity of the year for 2025.
This has been inspired by the support one of our staff members has received from RoadPeace since losing her sister in a road collision.
RoadPeace is the national charity for road crash victims. They provide information and support services to people bereaved or seriously injured in road crashes, and engage in evidence-based policy and campaigning work to fight for justice for victims and reduce road danger.
This is the story of Hannah, one of our senior conveyancers:
"On a normal Sunday in November 2023 I received a phone call from my parents which changed my world forever. My darling sister Alice had been killed after being hit by a car whilst out walking her dog. I will never forget the shock and devastation I felt that day, and to be honest, every day since.
Alice, on the left in the photo, was an amazing, kind, loving human being, and she has left a gaping hole in the lives of many people. Her loss is such a waste.
The shocking and sudden nature of losing someone you love in this way is unique, and the support from the RoadPeace sibling group has been invaluable in helping me realise I am not alone in what I am going through. Seeing the faces and hearing the voices of others who have lost their siblings in the same way has been such a comfort, even though none of us would ever have wanted to be part of this 'club'.
The police investigation process is extremely slow and frustrating. I had no idea when we first lost Alice that 18 months on, we would still be waiting to find out what actually happened. Again RoadPeace has helped me appreciate that this is (sadly) quite normal, and I know they will continue to support me when we finally go through the inquest/court case process.
I am so thankful to my employer Gateway 2 Conveyancing for making RoadPeace our charity of the year. RoadPeace relies on fundraising and volunteers to continue its vital work, and I am hoping we can raise as much money as possible for them."
