Story
I’m taking part in the Rocket 5K at the MK Marathon Weekend to raise money for MK Food Bank, a charity that’s been part of my life for nearly 15 years through my church, JCC MK.
MK Food Bank provides emergency food parcels to families and individuals in Milton Keynes who are facing short-term crisis. By working with local care agencies such as the CAB and Social Services, they make sure people receive not just food, but support for the underlying challenges they’re dealing with.
I’ve spent time volunteering at our church’s food bank centre, especially during school holidays, and seeing firsthand how many people rely on this support really put life into perspective for me at a young age. It showed me how fragile and unpredictable life can be — and how important it is to have a place that offers kindness, dignity, and a helping hand when things get tough.
It’s easy to think, “this wouldn’t happen to me,” but the reality is that it could happen to anyone. That’s why I’m raising money for MK Food Bank. Every donation, big or small, will help them continue supporting people in our local community when they need it most.
Thank you so much for your support — it really does make a difference 💛
