This walk is inspired by my good friend of many years Donna, whose life was profoundly affected by the loss of her mother and, shortly afterwards, her own bowel cancer diagnosis. During this challenging time, EHRS (Edgware and Hendon Reform Synagogue) and Chai Cancer Care provided vital support and compassion. This event is Donna’s way of giving back and helping others facing similar journeys. On 19 April 2026, I will join Donna and other members of the EHRS community who will come together for a one-mile or five-mile charity walk, I will be doing the full 5 miles. The walk also aims to raise awareness of colon cancer, encourage early detection, and break the stigma surrounding the disease. All funds raised will directly support EHRS and Chai Cancer Care, helping both continue providing care, comfort, and hope when it is needed most.

I will be doing this not only for and with Donna but also in memory of her wonderful mother Judy.
