Story
I am raising funds for these two hospitals that have saved my life. With a shocking diagnosis of ovarian cancer in June 2023, I was put through intensive chemotherapy and major abdominal surgery over the following months. I am eternally grateful to the caring and professional staff in the oncology department, most especially in the Collingwood Centre.
Having recovered from the exhausting, debilitating and emotional journey over the past 18 months, I am setting myself a fund-raising triple challenge to raise funds and show, with determination, resilience, the help of many good friends, and a bit of luck, we can beat cancer.
Challenge 1 (September 6th) - the Welsh 3000s in 24hrs. A challenge I was about to do in 2023 when I was diagnosed.
Challenge 2 (September 21st) - the Ipswich Half Marathon. To resume running after a major illness and challenge myself to complete this local event in a decent time!
Challenge 3 (October 4th) - the Hero Hike from Colchester Hospital to Ipswich Hospital, an event specific to this charity.
Please give generously, many of us will need the exceptional help of these hospitals at some time in our lives. The more money, the better service, and in my case a nice wig!
I'd like to thank everyone for their most generous donations. I've been training hard to try and achieve my challenges!
