Story
We (Laura & Pavel) are walking the West Highland Way (a 96-mile (154 km) long-distance hiking trail in Scotland) for a week, starting on August 9, 2025, to raise funds for the Greyhound Awareness League. This incredible charity is dedicated to helping greyhounds find their forever homes. They rely on the support of fosterers, volunteers, and generous donations from compassionate individuals like you.
The funds we raise will be used to provide essential care for these beautiful dogs. Every penny will go towards purchasing food, covering veterinary fees, and supplying other necessary items that ensure these greyhounds receive the love and care they deserve. We adopted Flora in 2022, she was found as a stray - with an injury, anxious and starving. However, many greyhounds come from racing backgrounds where they often face neglect and injury. These gentle souls have never known the warmth of a loving home.
Greyhounds are often misunderstood; people assume they require extensive exercise when in reality, they are quite content lounging around most of the day! They are funny, goofy companions who thrive on affection and cuddles. Sadly, there are countless greyhounds waiting for their chance at happiness in a forever home. The Greyhound Awareness League works tirelessly to match these dogs with perfect families.
We invite you to join us in this mission by supporting our fundraising efforts with a target of £500. Your contribution will make a significant impact in helping these wonderful dogs find their way into loving homes where they can finally feel safe and cherished.
