Hermione is a 9 year girl who was diagnosed with BPAN, a rare degenerative condition that affects the nervous system.

The charity Hope for Hermione was set up in Hermione’s honour to provide support to those living with BPAN and their families. Hope for Hermione also supports research projects to help find a cure for BPAN.

Those living with BPAN face the daily struggles of having seizures, their speech is severely impacted, some struggle with movement and dystonia. As the condition progresses leads, this leads to Parkinson’s and dementia and sever life limiting symptoms.
