This October I will be attempting to run an Ultramarathon distance of over 26.2 Miles - targeting 35-40 Miles in total.

In the process I will be looking to raise awareness, support and funds for Be Free, who provide a range of specialist support for adults in Pendle and Rossendale affected by domestic abuse.

Their community services include; a confidential helpline that can be accessed by people affected by domestic abuse and those who are worried about them, tailored one to one support to improve personal safety and address the impact of trauma, specialist family support for victims who are parents, help to seek legal advice and protection, support in attending court, group support, and much more.

BE FREE also provides emergency and temporary accommodation for families escaping domestic abuse. In addition to the BE FREE community services, we can provide safe and supported accommodation, offer a programme of recovery support and provide resettlement packages.

The Ultra Loop is an inclusive and flexible 8-hour running event with no limit on how far you can run. Within the 8 hours, you are encouraged to run as many loops as you can.

The mixed-terrain course combines gravel roads and light trails around a 7.7km route and no matter how many loops you run, you receive a finishing time and medal.

The event takes place at Delamere Forest in Cheshire, UK where the route explores the winding woodland trails.

Marathon distance is 42.195km, so I will be looking to complete 6 loops of the course as a minimum, to ensure that I complete and Ultramarathon distance.

My goal is to complete 8 loops, 61.6km, 38.3 Miles, in the 8 hour time limit. I'm going to start at 9am, keep running until 5pm, and see where that gets me.
