💙 Fundraising for The Star Box Fund
I’m taking on one of the UK’s hardest ultra marathons — a 57km ultra through Snowdonia, climbing Mount Snowdon — to raise money for an incredible charity called The Star Box Fund.
The Star Box Fund was created by six volunteers to bring something comforting to new patients embarking on their cancer journey.
Each Star Box contains small, thoughtful items and useful information, including items that help with the side effects of chemotherapy, to help patients feel more at ease on the very first day of their cancer treatment — a day that can be overwhelming and frightening.
Each box costs around £15, and my goal is to help provide as many Star Boxes as possible to patients who need that bit of comfort and reassurance.
This cause is very close to my heart. My mum has recently undergone chemotherapy for the second time, and receiving a Star Box genuinely made her day during a very difficult time. Seeing the difference it made to her showed me just how powerful such a simple gesture can be.
That’s why I’m pushing myself through this brutal challenge. It will be physically and mentally exhausting, but if it helps even one person feel supported on their first day of treatment, it will be worth every step.
I want other patients to feel that same comfort, care, and support when they begin their treatment.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help fund a Star Box and ensure someone feels a little less alone on one of the hardest days of their life.
