Hi all

As some of you may already know I have been fortunate enough to secure a place in the London Marathon 2024 which will be my final marathon. With this in mind I have decided to dedicate this race to Calan DVS, an outstanding domestic abuse charity based in Wales.

Domestic abuse affects people from all walks of life, regardless of their age, gender, or background. It doesn't just harm the immediate victims, but it also has a lasting impact on children who witness or experience it. This trauma can lead to long-term emotional, psychological, and even physical effects.

Calan DVS stands as a beacon of hope, offering crucial support and resources for those impacted by domestic abuse. Their dedication extends providing assistance for ALL victims of domestic abuse (adults and children). Furthermore, their commitment to working with perpetrators to address and change their behaviour is an essential step towards breaking the cycle of abuse.

By running the London Marathon in support of Calan DVS, I’m hoping to raise awareness about the prevalence of domestic abuse and contribute to the vital work they do. Domestic abuse is a serious issue that affects many people and families in our community. Calan DVS is a vital organization that provides support, safety and empowerment to those who need it most.
