Story
As a family we are heartbroken to share the sad news that our wonderful dad, grampa, son, brother and beloved husband Gareth, sadly passed away on Tuesday 20th January. This was following a sudden decline in his long term rare lung condition, cryptogenic hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
Gareth had been living with this condition for many years, and though there are limited treatment options, had been managing his condition with medication and oxygen therapy at home.
After working all his life to grow his business, Gareth was looking forward to retiring and spending more time with his wife of 45 years Debra, along with his children and grandchildren who gave him so much joy. Sadly this was not to be, with Gareth’s retirement only lasting for just over a year. Gareth was a kind, wonderful man and would do anything for anyone.
As a family we would appreciate any donations to Breathing Matters UK which helps directly fund research into this awful and cruel condition, along with other pulmonary fibrosis conditions.
Gareth would have been glad to know we had helped to fund research into new treatments enabling others to live longer.
Thank you for all of your donations and support, from Debra and family.
