Story
So, anybody that knows me will know that I will always challenge myself to do daft and stupid things, mainly driven by Endurance Sports. Well this year is no different and so, much to my family's delight I have signed up to swim the coastline of Montenegro with around 200 mad fools from around the world.
Most would say "yeh I could do that, love a little sea swim" or "no chance, why would you do that, its cold and dirty" but NO, not me bring it on. This swim challenge is 33km and covering the same distance as swimming the English Channel! The only saving grace is I have 4 days to do it 😝
If your a Swindonian or live within Wiltshire then you will probably have heard of the Prospect Hospice in Wroughton. The team here are truly remarkable, since 1980, they have provided the only dedicated end-of-life care service for people living across north east Wiltshire including Swindon, Marlborough, Royal Wootton Bassett as well as Fairford and Lechlade in Gloucestershire. They provide 24 hour care for those that are affected by a life-limiting illness. Every inpatient and family member are supported to ensure that the best possible care whenever and wherever they need it is provided completely free of charge.
In April this year I was taken back by the request and call for help for funding, I personally didn't appreciate that they only operate 6 beds (used to be 12) and despite the overwhelming need cannot afford to operate them. Jeremy Lune (CEO) made TV and Radio appearances calling for help, including through Parliament for additional funding to help run the £9m+ service.
... this is where I come in. So, If little ol'me can raise £2,000.00 then I'm sure this will be greatly appreciated. Please help, support and sponsor me even if this is outside your residential area, it would mean so much to me and the families they support 🙏🙏🙏
