The Jersey 100 Mile Challenge · 3 May 2024

BSK is a social enterprise providing training and employment opportunities to people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Our vision is of an inclusive workforce where our crew can maximise potential, be recognised for their skills, and be regarded positively and with respect.

Story

In May 2024, the team of Simon March, Jamie Ellis, Zach Mahe and Garry Yeardley are attempting to run 100 miles in Jersey.

The challenge will see us complete two laps of Jersey, which will include navigating the many coastal cliff paths, covering approximately 3000 metres of elevation. We aim to complete this challenge in around 30 hours.

This began as a personal challenge for Simon, who has a milestone birthday in 2024.

He then managed to persuade the rest of the team to join him!

Whilst doing so we thought it would be a good opportunity to raise a little bit of money for a local charity.

We decided on Beresford Street Kitchen.

Beresford Street Kitchen provides workplace opportunities for people with widely ranging skills and life experiences. In particular it offers people with learning disabilities and autism the chance to develop workplace skills and engage with the community in an inclusive, safe and supportive environment.
