Story
In April 2025 I started running after losing over 7 stone and wanting to keep the weight off and develop a healthier lifestyle. Starting with just a few 1k runs I gradually built up to 5k by which time I had begun to really enjoy running and challenging myself to go further and faster. I built up to 10k, 15k and in April 2026 just 12 months after I started running I ran my furthest ever distance of 21.1km! (half marathon). In May 2026 I entered the Folkestone Coastal 10k and was pleased with my time of 47:32! I then decided why not go further and really challenge myself with my first EVER marathon!
I am a volunteer Community First Responder for South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) and so I decided I would like to raise money for SECAmb Charity as I see first hand the amazing work they do, 24/7 in our local communities. All the staff and crews at SECAmb are dedicated and incredible professionals and I am proud to be small part of such an awesome team and so supporting this worthy cause made absolute sense to me!
The money raised will be used to support local communities accross the South East, it could be by providing lifesaving training, purchasing Public Access Defibrillators, recruiting and training CFR's like me and also to support emergency teams with wellbeing. Ambulance staff regularly deal with traumatic incidents and physically demanding situations, so the charity helps fund programmes designed to help them manage those challenges and continue providing the best possible care to patients and families, providing access to specialist counselling and physio rehabilitation sessions.
Please give whatever you can to this worthy cause!
Thank you ❤️
