Story
In 2021, a young family member of mine was diagnosed with a brain tumour and had to be transferred to Glasgow Hospital for treatment. During this difficult time, Ronald McDonald House Glasgow provided them with a 'home away from home' accommodation that was just a stone's throw away from the hospital. The comfort and convenience that this charity provided to my family during such a trying time is something that I will always be grateful for.
Thankfully, my nephew has recovered well, but there are still so many families out there who rely on the services of Ronald McDonald House Glasgow. This small independent Scottish charity (SC023199) provides free accommodation for families with seriously ill children in hospital. The house costs around £940,000 per year to run and helps approximately 500 families each year from across Scotland and beyond. It's an extremely worthy cause that deserves our support.
I had to think big for this challenge so that's why I decided to do loops of the Turriff showground (around 1.2km) for 24 hours beginning at 4pm on June 21st, 2024 to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Glasgow. My goal is to raise £2,000 GBP to help support the families who need it most. Every little bit counts towards making a difference in someone's life.
Please consider donating towards this cause and helping us make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.
