Me and Dad are marching for the Boobs!
In 2024 my life changed in ways I couldn't have imagined when I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. In the space of a year and a half I had 5 operations, lost my left boob, my ability to have any more children and went into the menopause. I was 34.
From the first day of my diagnosis, I started to get little pink books detailing all the information about the cancer and everything that goes with it. Even Ollie got one on how to best support me through the difficult months we faced. These were provided by Breast Cancer Now. Easy to read, short and comforting, they were a source of information that I desperately needed.
Along with the online forums, the live chats and messages to breast care nurses, the someone like me service that connects you to people in a similar situation to you, not to mention the conferences and events that are organised, Breast Cancer Now provides a support network and source of information that is vital for cancer sufferers, giving us a community to connect to.
So me and Dad are going to walk 100km in 24 hours or less to raise money so that Breast Cancer Now can continue the invaluable work they do.
1 in 7 women are affected by breast cancer in their lifetime and around 100 men are diagnosed with it each year. Help us make sure they can get the support they need at one of the toughest times a person can face
