Story
In December 2022, after a routine blood test, I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. I had a prostatectomy in February and then started the slow recovery process. I had had no symptoms, was fit and healthy, so my diagnosis was a complete shock, as was the realisation that had I not had such thorough medical care, the cancer would have killed me. I want to raise awareness of this silent killer and encourage men to get tested.
I also want to raise funds for this incredible charity, so, I have decided to take part in The Race Across Britain. It is a bike ride from Land's End in Cornwall, to John O'Groats in Scotland, covering some 980miles!
In addition, my family are joining me in my fundraising efforts and we are all competing in the Blenheim Palace Triathlon in June, and finish with the London Royal Parks Half Marathon in October. We will send updates.
Wish us luck, we're going to need it!
