Story
The Team Luke Foundation is a registered charity set up as a legacy to Luke Bell, an inspirational 8 year old Darlington boy who died from Neuroblastoma in December 2018, only 21 months after his original diagnosis. Its aim is to make more people aware of this childhood cancer, help parents access key services & information, provide practical support, & fund research to improve diagnosis & develop kinder treatment. It’s a daunting list but Luke’s parents, Mark & Becky Bell, are determined to do all they can to make a difference in Luke’s name. Read more here... https://teamluke.org.uk/luke-story
My 9 year old son Freddy became aware of the #TEAMLUKE charity at his school and decided to take on the challenge of completing the Cleveland Way to raise money for this fantastic charity.
The 109 mile (175km) Cleveland Way is one of England’s original National Trails. Starting at Helmsley, the first half crosses the North York Moors National Park, boasting great vistas from sweeping heather moorlands. Upon reaching the coast at Saltburn-by-the-Sea, the second half of the route then follows the North Yorkshire coast as far as Filey, taking in the highest cliffs in eastern England at Boulby.
We started the walk from Helmsley on the 24th May and completed the trail on the 31st May in Filey.
Thanks in advance for your support, we have exceeded the total and every donation is very welcome and was a huge motivation as we pushed through some challenging conditions along the walk!
