Hi All,

I have decided to take up a bit of an unusual challenge...running 1km up a hill in Fife with 50kg of Coal, in a bag, on my back !!

The Kelty Coal Race !!

The race is inspired by stories from the late 1800s when local miners would race home from the pits carrying bags of large pieces of coal.

Nowadays it's a fun, family day out ...

I've decided to also try and raise a few quid for MND. The reason for this is that a colleague Bob, has a grandson, Michael, who has been diagnosed with MND.

Id like to raise some awareness of this terrible illness, in Michael's name and with the link between my work and the race I thought this would be a great way to do it and a great idea... I might not agree half way up the hill on the day that the idea was so great mind you. There is some information below about MND Scotland.

So ditch the coffee or lunch snack today and stick your £5 or whatever you can afford into the pot and lets try and get some money for a great charity
