Story
🚴♂️ From Clapham to the Coast: Gary’s London to Brighton Challenge!
On Sunday 21 June 2026, I’ll be swapping the sofa for the saddle and taking on the legendary 54-mile London to Brighton Bike Ride.
Starting at Clapham Common and finishing at the Brighton seafront, I’ll be tackling the distance (and the infamous Ditchling Beacon!) to raise vital funds for Age UK Milton Keynes.
Why Age UK Milton Keynes?
Growing older shouldn't mean growing lonely, but for many in our local community, it does. Age UK Milton Keynes provides essential services—from befriending and lunch clubs to advice and practical support—that help older people stay independent, connected, and valued.
Every penny I raise stays local, ensuring that our neighbours in Milton Keynes have someone to turn to when they need it most.
The Challenge
The Distance: 54 miles (86.9 km) of pedalling.
The Terrain: Steep hills, winding roads, and hopefully a lot of sunshine!
The Goal: To raise as much as possible to support the incredible work done by the Age UK MK team.
How You Can Help
I’m training hard to make sure I reach that finish line at the Brighton seafront. If you can spare a few pounds to support my ride, it would mean the world to me—and even more to the local people who benefit from Age UK’s services.
£10 could help provide a hot meal at a local lunch club.
£25 could fund a befriending visit for someone who feels isolated.
£50 helps keep the vital advice line running for those in crisis.
Thank you for your support, your cheers, and your donations!
Let’s do this! 🚲💨
