Gary's Tokyo Marathon Challenge

Gary Wills is raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity

Tokyo Marathon 2026 · 1 March 2026 ·

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

I’m running the Tokyo Marathon to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

As a dad, I know how important it is for children to feel safe, supported and cared for when they’re unwell. That’s why I’ve chosen to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital, a place that helps some of the sickest children in the UK.

The charity goes above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide. Donations fund life-saving equipment, pioneering research into childhood diseases, and innovative treatments that give children a better chance at recovery. They also focus on making the hospital feel like home, from family support and play therapy, to creating brighter, friendlier spaces that help children cope with their treatment.

Every mile I run in Tokyo is for those children and their families. By supporting me, you’ll be helping to give them the care, comfort, and hope they deserve. Together we can make a life-changing difference. 💙
