UPDATE - We did it!
Last Saturday, in horrible weather, 28 of us set off on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, in memory of our friend, Martin. And we’re delighted to report that, despite all the challenges of the day, we completed it – along with a group of 13 also doing 1 of the Peaks. It was a very special day – and a genuine achievement for us.
And thank you so much – for all the generosity in the donations – which kept us going. It has been amazing to see the response – and the funds raised. The Brain Tumour Charity is very grateful to you, and thrilled with what has been done. All additional donations are hugely appreciated.
On Saturday 7 June, a large group of friends, family and former colleagues of Martin Barnes are walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks, to raise funds for the Brain Tumour Charity. We were devastated to lose Martin last year, after a long battle with illness, and we wanted to do something to remember him, as well as raise money for a charity that means a lot to his family.
Martin was a great friend to many and is much missed. He loved walking, and took part in some of the infamous Yorkshire Three Peaks walks organised with his colleagues at Gateley Legal. It is therefore a fitting tribute to him that we set off on that same walk, which provides a suitable challenge to many of us!
To use the opportunity to raise funds for the Brain Tumour Charity is a really important part of this endeavour. More details about the charity are below. Please do support us, inspire us, and keep us going in our training, as well as on the day, by donating as generously as you can. And, on the day, we’ll remember our friend, doing something special in his name.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour.
We're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And we're doing it right now. Because we understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
