Gateway Club is a social club for people with learning disabilities. The club was started over 50 years ago by a group of parents who realised there was a lack of provision for their adult children once they left the School/College system. Since those early years Gateway Club has been on an exciting journey to become a vibrant busy club.

Members can take part in a variety of activities including quizzes, art and crafts, music, games and a sports activities including indoor football, cricket, archery, keep fit, dance, discos and much more.

Gateway members take an active part in devising each term’s timetable. Members are listened to and included in all decisions regarding the club’s activities and days out.

On Saturday 16th September, Gateway Club is doing a sponsored walk with its members to raise funds for the club.

There are two circuits, Ifti (being the trooper that he is) has opted for the longer walk.

Gateway has been absolutely amazing for Ifti, he looks forward to attending each week’s session and misses the club when it closes for holidays. The club was an absolute lifeline for Ifti during Covid, his daytime provision closed, but Gateway volunteers stepped up and offered an online provision, with something different on offer each week including ‘who wants to be a millionaire’, drumming, singing and even treasure hunts.
