Story
Imo Voorspuy and Issy Fitzalan-Howard are currently training to race in the Gaucho Derby in February 2023. Heralded the world's toughest horse race, we will be crossing 500km of the Patagonian outback on 7 different horses and carrying all food and shelter in order to be completely self sufficient for the 10 day duration. The website for the event can be found here Gaucho Derby - The Equestrianists
In order to raise money and awareness ahead of the race we are hosting a Carol Concert at St Patrick’s Church in Soho on Monday 4th December. We would love for you to join us. We will be splitting the proceeds from the night with St Patrick’s Open House charity and the Tristan Voorspuy Conservation Trust.
Tickets: £40
Please RSVP to gauchoderbycarols@gmail.com as soon as you have paid for your ticket
Some more background:
We are riding for the Tristan Voorspuy Conservation Trust (TVCT), which was set up in memory of Tristan to continue his philanthropic legacy in protecting Kenya’s wildlife. Its mission is to break the cycle of poverty, and in doing so reduce the mounting pressure on Kenya’s remaining wildlife and natural habitat so that its diversified flora and fauna can continue to exist for future generations. As a charitable trust, we donate to charities who have the infrastructure and operations on the ground. We closely collaborate and plan with our chosen charities on how to best direct the funds to maximise our mission.
St Patrick's Church Open House Charity provides a service to homeless people in London who are in need of food and shelter. St Patrick's gives then a space to relax, eat great food, share good company and be restored.
These two causes are very close to our hearts and we hope that you will join us in the spirit of giving at Christmas to support them both. (Imo and I are self funding this race so that all the money we raise will be going directly to charity)
