16 mile swim · 2 September 2023

We focus mainly on helping refugees in transit. We do this by providing frontline evacuations, where conflicts are at their most precarious, and distributing emergency survival aid for refugees on the move. We also work on self-reliance projects, providing formal education for refugee children in Jordan, up-skill adult refugees into employment in the UK and internationally, and build hydroponic farming systems.

Story

Gav has just completed a 16 MILE NON STOP cold water sea swim in the Solent around the shores of the isle of wight for the wonderful charity https://www.refugease.org.

It took 8 hours of hard slog battling the wind, tide, waves and jellyfish!!

Refugease is a Kent-based charity dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance to refugees in Europe and the Middle East.

In Ukraine, their frontline evacuation missions focus on people stuck in hard-to-reach areas, evacuating vulnerable people who can't flee by themselves due to illness, disabilities or age. Refugease's 'Aid Shop' enables people to purchase survival items for distribution by their team in Ukraine. This approach reduces operational costs and maximizes the impact of each donation, all while supporting Ukraine's economy. And the best part? You know exactly where your money is going!

Due to the ever changing news cycle, it seems more pertinent than ever that we keep shining a light and raising much needed funds for the tragic situation that the Ukranian people find themselves in, still.

Thank you so much for contributing towards such an important cause.
