Story
There are 70, 000 young people currently in care in the UK so a number of us at Capstone will be running, walking or crawling 70 km over Fostering Fortnight to highlight this fact. We'll also be trying to raise some money for Capstone Care Leaver's Trust. Many young people who have been in ‘care’, either in Local Authority foster care arrangements or in children’s homes, are expected to live independently from as young as 16 years old. They do not have access to the same financial and family support systems that most young people experience. The CCLT provide practical support in providing funds for things like further education courses, higher education courses, training courses, laptops, study materials and household essentials.
