Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Over the past couple of years, like most people nowadays, there have been challenges - facing a prolonged period of unemployment, losing friends, losing my mother, very nearly losing my dear wife, and all of us having to leave our family home after 25 years. Throughout all of these challenges I have used the power of mindfulness to cope, to keep calm, grounded and remain eternally grateful for the simple pleasures and gifts of life.

Like thousands of others over the years, I was introduced to mindfulness by Brian Turnbull and Peer 2 Peer Mindfulness, a Scottish Borders charity which provides free, eight-week mindfulness introductory courses. All you need to bring with you is a curiosity and desire to learn how to heal yourself and cope with everyday stresses of being a human.

Now it is time to give something back and so with a group of fellow walkers representing the charity, I am taking part in the Mighty Stride Edinburgh Kiltwalk 2025 - 20 miles, striding through our most beautiful city.

I know you will get requests all the time for donations, but if you could spare whatever you can to a hardworking and powerful charity I would be eternally grateful, thank you.
