Age UK Cheshire works with older people in Cheshire to support them in living their best life by relieving loneliness, so older people feel connected, combatting poverty, so that older people have enough to live on, and increasing independence, so older people can live the lives they want to lead.

Story

My dad, Alan Smith, was a trustee at Age UK Cheshire for 14 years and was very passionate about the work they did to support people in the Cheshire area in their later years. Many older people can find their later years lonely but charities like age UK can really make a difference and bring so much positivity about what should be the happier times of life.

I’m off to walk the West Highland way in May, covering just under 100 miles in 7 days. Heck if I hit my target I’ll do Ben Nevis on the final day too!

My dad sadly passed away in 2021 and I’ll be thinking about him a lot on this hike so thought it was an ideal opportunity to raise some money in his memory.

I’d be very grateful if you wish to donate.

Age UK Cheshire is a local social enterprise and charity that is dedicated to later life.
